"This evenings show is a label spotlight on some of the early Confront Collectors Series discs off the Confront label. In 1996, Mark Wastell started the label releasing cassettes and CDR’s by the likes of Rhodri Davies, Burkhard Beins, Phil Durrant, Matt Davis, Keith Rowe, his own work as well as a host of others. From 2004 – 2011 the Collector Series ran releasing 16 discs of uncompromising music. The label and Wastell were centre in the ‘New London Silence’ improv scene, though these discs span all spectrums of improvised work. The label has recently returned with 4 new releases after a two year hiatus. Tonight we will make our way through some of these earlier discs."
